Why am I eating what I'm eating?

This Fall I will be competing in a figure competition - I have about 20-30 lbs of fat to lose.

My boyfriend is a competition bodybuilder, and has me on the diet that has worked wonders for him. It's a bit different than the traditional "white fish, yam, broccoli" prep diet that most competitors do.

The Diet:
- 4 to 6 meals a day
- Eat whole meals only:
25 g protein/15 g carb/10 g fat (for now)
- Carbs only come from ff dairy, fruit & veggies
- Omega fats only (coconut/olive/walnut/flax oil, omega eggs)
- Lean protein (eggs, chicken breast, white fish, turkey)
- Lots of water (about 1 gallon daily)
- About 2 to 3 hours between meals
- As many green veggies as I want
- (for now) 1 cheat meal on Sundays to keep my body guessing

Right now I am more or less sticking to this as closely as possible. The goal is to ease my body into it so I have somewhere to work when it comes time to drastically cut for the show.
