sunday brunch 12:30 pm - Meal #2

Tony and I went to The Old Town Cafe for my Sunday cheat meal. The restaurant is a local Bellingham favorite spot. They specialize in using organic ingredients and are very vegetarian friendly. (Not that we're vegetarians, but it just gives you an idea of the restaurant.) It's been about 2 hours since we ate and I'm STILL uncomfortably full.

Tony ordered an omelet AND french toast, and I ordered this delicious poached eggs/biscuit/cheese/tomato dish (it is actually REALLY good...kinda hard to explain) AND a piece of their sour cream blueberry coffee cake. Tony cleaned up the entire table. He is still in that post-competition EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT mode. So I didn't feel too guilty ordering all that food and not even getting close to finishing it.

Three poached eggs on 2 biscuits with cheese sauce (like a gravy, not nacho cheese)
& tomatoes. Homefries on the side with ketchup.
I ate maybe a third of this dish -- Tony demolished the rest
&
French toast with real maple syrup.
Tony ordered this to "share". I had about 5 bites. It was amazing!

Blueberry coffee cake & brewed coffee with cream & splenda
I had about 3 cups of coffee. The coffee cake was perfect. Not too sweet and clearly baked with whole wheat flour and other quality ingredients. I only ate about 1/4 or less of the slice.
Tony of course demolished the rest.

  2. Thanks! I think it's going to really help me stay on top of my diet. I like the blog so much more than writing down what I eat, it's nice to see everything visually!

  3. Are you sure those eggs aren't eggs benedict (poached eggs on biscuit/english muffin with hollandaise sauce)? They look yummy, though!
